Targets stubborn areas of fat
A minimally invasive fat-dissolving injectable designed to contour and reduce fat in targeted areas of the body. It is formulated using deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring bile acid in the body that can break down fat.
The deoxycholic acid irritates the fat cell membrane, causing it to begin breaking down and dissolving. As it is a solution naturally produced by the body, it can be processed and eliminated safely and efficiently to remove excess fat on average over a 3-week period.
What can i expect from the process?
The area will be cleaned and numbing cream applied if required. The cream is wiped off, and a grid-like area will be marked out on the skin with a pen. Small injections will be administered into the fat layer of the skin which are generally minimally uncomfortable. Up to 10 small doses may be put into the fatty area under the chin, and for larger body parts, a large cannula will be placed in the area to disperse the treatment to minimise bruising, discomfort and swelling.
The whole process will take 30 minutes, and you can return to normal activities straight away. If the double chin area is treated, swelling will start almost immediately. You can return to your normal activities once you feel ready, but the area may feel tender for up to 2 weeks. If you have the double chin treated we would also suggest you pick a time where you can avoid social events for seven days. You can wear a scarf or turtle-neck jump to hide the swelling until it settles.
We advise no strenuous exercises for seven days to allow the treatment to settle in. Aftercare information will also be provided for areas that benefit from self daily massage and compression wear.
How many sessions are required?
Following treatment, the body will continue to remove any unwanted fat cells through the lymphatic drainage system, and results will develop over time. You may need multiple sessions to achieve the desired results. The number of sessions required depends on the desired results of the individual, but for optimal results, usually three to five sessions.
It is important to note that for most treatments, the final results are visible around 2 weeks post-procedure. Meaning, we encourage you to remain patient during this time before making a final judgment. That being said, each body is unique and, therefore, the biological PH balance and metabolic rate vary between clients. Results cannot be compared, predicted, or guaranteed.
Is Aqualyx a permanent solution?
The deoxycholic acid permanently removes fat cells from the body, but it doesn’t stop them from coming back. It is important to pair Aqualyx treatment with a balanced diet and exercise to maintain results.

Are there any side effects?

These symptoms should disappear after a few days, but will be minimised if aftercare instructions are followed. It is rare to require any medical interventions following treatment.
Who is eligible?
Aqualyx’s target market is those who are close to their ideal weight but are struggling to shift those stubborn pockets of fat. Those with active infections, uncontrolled diabetes or certain autoimmune diseases are not suitable for Aqualyx. Please reach out to discuss suitability if you are unsure.
